Yes, horses are highly tuned emotional communicators. Because they are prey animals their lives depend on knowing exactly how each member of the herd is feeling.
It is said that we humans are a mix of prey and predator- though it's been eons since most of our species has been prey to tribal groups,lions, tigers and bears and so we work out of our mostly predator instincts.
I'm learning that to work with horses is to quiet the inner hunter-conqueror, allowing the intuitive to emerge.
