Kim, I might just be enjoying your Blog more than you :-). Another profound insight that resonates so powerfully with me. For my own reflection, I want to add competitiveness to hyper-individuality, sometimes covert but yet the message that I am better than you. Do horses compete only when they are forced to by humans? What happens in the horse world when resources are limited and not enough to go around--like water and food? Do they just move on together or die together?

Gretchen,
I agree with your insights! Our darn Ego really can play havoc with unity and peace, can't it?
Horses do compete for resources, the stallions for mares, and the hierarchy of the group decides who eats and drinks first.
It is a Darwinian world in which they live...the strongest survive and breed, the weak are preyed upon by predator.
